PAYG Mobile Broadband

3G Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband gives you the benefits of Mobile Broadband, without having to commit to a lengthy contract. Of course this means no free USB modem is included in the package, but the modems below are great value in any case. We have listed three PAYG options below from 3 Mobile, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

Skype Support

3 Mobile allow Skype on their PAYG Mobile Broadband, T-Mobile do not. Vodafone allow Skype on their TopUp and Go package.

3 VPN Support

3 Mobile allow VPN on their PAYG Mobile Broadband, T-Mobile do not. Vodafone allow VPN on their TopUp and Go package.

Out of Bundle Charges

There are no out of bundle charges with T-Mobile. You must be careful with Three Mobile - when you buy a Top-up, you must convert your Top-up to a Mobile Broadband Add-on immediately after Topping up, or you will be charged £1 per MB (see the Top-up guide below for further details). Vodafone charge you £15 per GB if you go over your allowance.

3 Mobile Top-up Charges
 

Three have a range of Top-ups from £10 to £25, depending on how much you want to surf. The costs and download allowance are shown below:

The Three PAYG top-up data allowance is valid for 30 days after activation, or until the download allowance is used. Please see the Top-up guide below for instructions on topping up.
 

3 Mobile Broadband Starter Kits
 

3 Mobile have released a number of PAYG Start Kits, where the SIM comes pre-loaded with data ready to go. This saves you having to Top-up before you can use your modem. There are cost savings too - for just £20 more than a data free modem you are actually getting 3GB of data included, which is worth £30.

T-Mobile Pay per Day
   
 

T-Mobile operate their Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband in a different way to 3 Mobile and Vodafone. With T-Mobile you pay for for number of days access, rather than a specific amount of data usage. On the 30 days access you get 3GB included data - this means you have approx 100MB per day on the 2 day pass and approx 768MB on the 7 day pass. If you go over these figures, T-Mobile may restrict your network access, but they won't charge you any out of bundle data costs (see Fair Usage Policy links below).

3 Mobile Broadband Top-ups

A commonly asked question is how you Top-up your 3 Mobile Broadband, well here is the answer!

3 Mobile Broadband Top-up using Top-up Voucher
1) Buy a 3 Mobile Top-up from over 100,000 locations - Petrol stations, Supermarkets, Convenience stores etc - wherever you see the 3 Mobile Broadband Top-up sign.
2) You must login at www.three.co.uk/My3 and activate your top-up.
3) You need to convert your Top-up to an Add-on within the My3 area.

WARNING - You must convert your Top-up to a Mobile Broadband Add-on straight after Topping up, or you will be charged £1 per MB.

3 Mobile Broadband Top-up using Online System

1) Register your bank card (debit card) on the www.three.co.uk/My3
2) Top-up with £10 (the maximum you can purchase when you first register). After seven days you can top-up with larger amounts if you like, once your security has been checked and verified.
3) Next, convert the £10 Top-up you just purchased to a Mobile Broadband Add-on to get 1GB of data.

WARNING -You must convert your Top-up to a Mobile Broadband Add-on straight after Topping up, or you will be charged £1 per MB.

 

* Maximum Mobile Broadband download speed achievable in some areas of the UK. The actual speed will depend on your location and network activity.

*** The data allowance on Starter kits is valid as follows: 3GB - 3 months, 12GB - 12 months, 24GB - 24 months. Much better flexibility than top-ups with 30 days validity!
